Last Day of School

Last Day of School - Day 20

This is day 20 of the challenge - A story a day, keeps the boredom away. Each day I'll try to reach my goal of 500 words a day. Today I'll be writing how my last day of school (for year 8) went.

This morning, I woke up, realising that today would be the last day of school 'till it was the summer holiday. Since I remember that, it gave me the motivation to get out of bed and to do my regular routine. I'm not going to bore you out, but to make it short, once I finished my routine, I started to go to school, but we were going to be cutting it short.

We had to go fast, and fast we went. When we had arrived at school, the teacher told us to hurry up. Most likely, the time was about 8:28 - for comparison, the gate closes at 8:30 max. So, me and my brother had to lock our bikes quickly so that the gate doesn't close on us, and we become late.

Once I lined up, I couldn't find my best friend, but I did find my other friends. I decided to talk to them for the meanwhile. We talked about what was going to be happening today and what had happened yesterday. Then we started walking into the building and the teacher was telling us what we would be doing today as it was our last day in school until the summer holiday.

When we had sat down in our form class, the teacher instantly told us that the school time would end at 1:00 pm besides the usual 3:05 pm. Then the teacher told us that we would be in form class until 9:30 am, and we would be doing quizzes and guess the teacher's pet. She then explained the whole day and during that, an unexpected visitor had showed up to my form class, one of my good friends had showed up. He decided to sit next to us as one of my friends had taken the day off as it was our final day, so he thought that it would be ok if he hadn't come to school today.

During the form class, 8:25 am to 9:30 am, we just did quizzes and my friend started to cheat by searching up the answers, instead of answering them legitimately. It was pretty funny, and then we started to go onto games as the quizzes and guess the pet started to get sort of boring. The teacher soon catches on and she didn't like it and told us to get off the game, or we would have to get off the computer fully. So, we had to follow her rules and then after it had finished, it was break time.

During break time, I didn't get a fruit, but I went to the toilet and then went to my friends to talk together, and we walked to the most fun event. The next event would be inflatables, and from what I know about inflatables from the Christmas event, it's really fun to play on them.

And so, when the bell had ringed, we walked to the sports hall as that would be where it would be held at, and so we lined up.

As soon as we got in, we took our bags off, took off our blazer, took off our shoes - as using socks was a must and it was better on the inflatables - and we set off onto the first inflatable. The inflatable lines were absolutely massive, and they took a while just to actually do the course, which most likely would take only about a few seconds to a minute max. So, when me and my best friend lined up for the first one, it started to take too long and so we went to straight to the one where we would 1v1 each other, the gladiator duel. The gladiator duel was an inflatable with two circular small platform, and with 2 big bag things that we would hit each other with.

The line wasn't too long and once it was our turn, I was literally shaking my legs, it was really scary seeing the people watch, but as soon as it started, we both started really strong. I started off with defense, while he went off with his offense, hitting me left and right, but I either dodged it or blocked it. During that, I started losing my balance, so I looked at my feet and repositioned them, so that I wouldn't get knocked down. I decided to retaliate on him, and I started throwing my bag at him, swinging at him left and right, and trying to also sweep him. During this, the teacher and the line was cheering who would win. The battle had lasted for over 30 seconds and the teachers said that this was a good one as the other people battles only lasted for about 10 seconds or less. Our battle kept going and if I won this, I could redeem myself from the Christmas incident, when my best friend had knocked me down due to just one powerful swing punch, with the giant gloves in the inflatables. He kept his balance and so did I. I kept swinging at him until he lost his balance. He fell backwards, I pushed him, yet HE SAVED HIMSELF, then he put too much power into falling forwards, and I pulled him towards me, so therefore he would fall in front of me, and BOOM, I had won. The battle had lasted over a minute and for my celebration, I had just face planted onto the inflatable due to how tired I was.

My friends were supportive on how crazy that battle was, also towards my best friend, and so after that, we moved onto the next inflatable. This one was a short course, and it didn't have much to it, so we finished it in a few seconds, which sort of made up for its super short line.

The next one me and my best friend would do was the giant dragon inflatable. This was an obstacle course one and it was much longer and taller. The line was the longest out of them all, most likely as it looked the most fun - it was not -, and so we waited a bit, and the queue didn't take that long till it was our turn and so we went for it. The first thing was a tall climbing thing and we both made it over, it was a near battle, we kept going up and down, till the end, I had won as he had slipped on the last one. Then after that, we went back onto gladiators, except I was with my other friend and my best friend was with our other friend. It was fun, I beat him, and we did the same thing with both inflatable courses.

At the end, we still hadn't done the first thing that we had set our eyes to do, oh well we said, till next time. Then the time had ran out, we put our uniform back, our bag, and our shoes and we headed off to our next thing to do.

Our next thing to do was guess the musician. We had got given a song that a teacher had sang and we had to guess which teacher it was, based on the type of music it was, the singing capabilities, how it sounded, and the animal it had dressed up as. This was pretty boring and for most of the time, we had just put our heads down on the chair and we had some small talk but that was about it. Till the end, we didn't know if we were right or not, all we know was that, at the end of the day, we would know which teacher it was, but not if we were right or not.

Then after that, we had lunch time. For lunch, I had nothing to eat, except water and a chocolate bar, as my mom was too lazy to cook something up in the morning, and besides, we would be coming back home at 1:00 pm, so there wasn't really a point in making food as when we went back home, it would already be lunch. Once I had finished my chocolate bar, I met up with my friend outside and we talked till it was our next lesson, form. In form, we pretty much did nothing except line up outside the assembly area, which would be the last thing we do.

Once we had entered the assembly area, the teachers would be talking about the awards and the sweets that we would be giving away to the best students in that year, for each team group. Then it was awards for the best form teachers and the best teachers that teach and substitute, I think. There was a lot of stuff happening, and so after all that stuff, the teacher decided to give everyone the candy away - well whatever was remaining left from the bag - to us and other rows in the drama room. Then it was karaoke. So, the rest of the 30 minutes, it was all karaoke, I decided to talk to my friend for most of that time and so it wasn't as boring as I thought and when it ended, I had a literal headache. After that, we left, we both said goodbye until next time, and I headed off and got my books from my form, science, and my other books were gone, so I couldn't retrieve them sadly. After that, I went to the bike area and set off back home with my brother, and he left me to play with his friends, so I went back home by myself.

That's basically how my day went and now I'm here, sitting, feeling bored and sad, wishing to turn back time to the inflatables, and yeah. Thanks for reading.
