Mathematics

Mathematics - Day 11

This is day 11 of the challenge - A story a day, keeps the boredom away. Each day I'll try to reach my goal of 500 words a day. Today I'll be writing about my day and about how Mathematics can help us in our future.

Today I had to do my Mathematics end of year test and I was wondering what the importance of math in our future lives was. Today also had P.E so it was going to be a fun day, but the start wasn't good.

When I woke up, I was wondering what day it was, realising it was Tuesday, I woke up pretty late on accident, we only had about 30 minutes to prepare. I went downstairs, made my breakfast and then after I ate, took a shower, changed, I had to do some business in the bathroom which took too long. By the time it was time to go, it was 8:20 and we had to go by car because it was raining.

We arrived at the school at 8:27, so we were late, and the gate was already closed. We walked through the front entrance, waiting for our detention that the teacher was going to give us when we walked through the corridor. As the two mean teachers gave alot of people detentions with pleasure as well, enjoying it, enjoying the suffering of children doing detention for just being a few minutes late because of the rain, a really cool teacher came from the back door and said, why are you giving these kids detention? Just let them in, I was at the back till 8:29 waiting for more students, it's not their fault, let them just go in and stop wasting their time and let them get signed into the registration at form.

That teacher was actually really cool, and they let us all go, and we went into our classes. This is when my friend reminded me that we had a math end of year test today and I was sort of confused and sort of scared because I barely had revised for it.

For our first lesson, we had P.E. P.E is the most fun lesson in the whole week of school and it's because we get to do sports or workout with our friends, and we can train our strength together. The teacher told us to go to the gym room because it was raining and he allowed us to go onto the pull up rack to train our biceps and triceps. This teacher is an absolute W, and he is amazing.

I decided to come aboard the pull up train and show my pull up skills, as well as everyone else in the gym. I was able to do 4 pull ups in a row and I decided to stick to slow pull ups, incline and decline because it gives better quality than quantity.

The next lesson was our math end of year test and I sat next to my best friend. I decided to talk to him about it and we chatted a bit about it and our revision about the test and we started walking to the test and I jump scared my other friend while he was unaware, and I actually did scare him.

When we got into the math room, I was wondering, what is math for? I had revised a bit and it turned out to be really useful and the first few questions was about the stuff I had revised for, and it was the stuff that I didn't understand as well. Tomorrow I will be doing a calculator paper instead of the regular non calculator paper like I did today. I think I did pretty good but onto the questioning.

I was wondering what math was used for. I thought it would be for the high-level jobs, but it actually comes into every job, just that in each job, it has a different level of use of math. In each job, most notably an architecture and engineers are the most important jobs using math. These jobs use math to calculate the weight, structure and more. Without them, the world would be useless. Not just that, but also the cashiers in amazon, Walmart, ASDA and all the managers and the people that carry out the transactions and more.

Math is actually really useful, it may not be used on anything today, but future on it can be used and possibly will be used. Though the more complex ones like y=mx+c is a bit confusing and a bit irrelevant to future things.

Anyways the rest of the day was alright at best. I decided to play with my friend that came over yesterday online and we played some games together and now I'm writing this at 9:21 and we finished at 8:00. Thanks for reading.
