   Skill - Day 7

This is day 7 of the challenge - A story a day, keeps the boredom away. Each day I'll try to reach my goal of 500 words a day. Today I'll be writing about how you can develop and master a skill, unlike me. I am currently typing this in Midnight, at 6/7/2024, but I actually typed this 5/7/2024.

Today, after school, I decided to invite my friend over to my house and we decided to have some fun by playing some games together and doing some fun activities.

While he was here, I realised that I wasn't really good at anything. I played some games, and I was pretty bad at them while I thought I was decent at them. We played a game where you flew planes and a tank battle, and I was really bad at it.

For some context, he just bought the game a few months ago, while I've played the game for about 2 years now and I'm still horrible at the game. So, now I'm wondering, how can I get good at something and master the skill.

To get good at something, you must have passion for it. If you don't have passion in something, how can you enjoy it and master it. Before you master something, you must learn the basic of it. By learning the basics and the controls, you can then slowly start progressing to get better and master it but yet I haven't, so why haven't I gotten better?

I believe that I haven't gotten better by 2 main factors. The first factor which is pretty simple, my passion for getting good at something. It's very hard for me to focus on something and really play it alot to get good at it.

The second factor is a bit more complex. My second factor is that I have a very hard time to learn something, and I just don't feel confident enough and comfortable to play in big games to get better. Most people say to get better, you must go headfirst in your worst fears and the stuff that, but I just don't have the confidence to do that.

There's so many good tutorials and tactics on the internet to make you better, but if you're not willing to take the risk and head into that type of play style, then there's no way of you improving, and that's the hole that I'm stuck in, even after years of playing, good practice isn't good without the use of good tactics.

Next time I want to get good at something, I'm going to have put much more effort into it and much more passion into it if I actually do want to improve and master it and potentially, flex in front of my friends when I play with them.

So, the next time that you want to get good at something, keep this mindset in your mind. Because at the end of the day, it's not just a physical battle against your opponents, it's a mental battle in your mind to keep you focus and locked in while gaming and practicing. Thanks for reading.
