Youtuber - Day 23
This is day 23 of the challenge - A story a day, keeps the boredom away. Each day I'll try to reach my goal of 500 words a day. Today I'll be writing about YouTubers.
Today, I was wondering, what do Youtubers do? This got me researching, but before that, I'm going to talk about the stuff that I already know on what Youtubers do.
From my knowledge, Youtubers are people who are there to entertain people or educate people. They are people that require a fanbase for them to be a big Youtuber.
Youtubers need to be consistent on their uploading schedule, to keep their fan base engaged to their channel and keep them entertained. If they lose their audience, they can slowly lose all their fan base and their growth, as their channel, would be considered, a dead channel. This is probably one of the worst things a Youtuber can experience. When all of your hard work, all of the videos that you worked on and uploaded onto your channel, just disappears away. I felt that twice but with channels that weren't so big than bigger channels.
My two channels had 100 subscribers, then my other one had 200 subscribers, when they both died. I had spent so much time and effort into making videos on both accounts. The first one, with 100 subscribers, I had just started Youtube with editing and so I wasn't too good, but as the game I was playing died out, I felt bored and tired with the game, also my viewers and fan base as well. So, slowly, my audience started to die out, and eventually, I lost it all, and my channel got banned. I explained this in my previous blog. For my second channel, it also had died out after the game I had initially depended on had died out with 200 subscribers, and this leads to my next point.
My next point is that Youtubers need to be able to adapt to their surroundings. Surroundings means, the viral things around them in their platform. This can be new games, new viral topics, and trending stuff. This is a really hard thing to conquer as this can depend on your channel life expectancy. If you stick to a game, and it dies out, you're done, there isn't much you can do as your audience had gone away from that game and went onto their games. If you switch up games, your audience might follow your influence and play your games, and potentially, you can also gain some extra audience from your next game.
Here is some information I have gathered up on the internet. Some information may have already been featured, but there may be some skills that I haven't told about inside of this text on the internet:
Most successful YouTubers have and adapt multiple skills. A Youtuber must possess a range of different and unique skills that go beyond simply creating and uploading videos.
Firstly, strong content creation skills are essential. These skills include scripting, filming, and editing high-quality videos that engage and retain viewers. By retaining the viewers' attention, you can gain watch hours, and attract more viewers as Youtube themselves will spread your video more out as viewers that already watched the video and stayed, found it as a good video. Effective communication skills are crucial for connecting with the audience, conveying messages clearly, and building a loyal following. Additionally, a solid understanding of social media and digital marketing is important to promote videos, grow the channel, and optimise content for search engines. Creativity and originality set a YouTuber apart from the competition, while consistency in posting maintains viewer interest. Finally, basic business acumen is necessary to manage monetisation, collaborations, and channel analytics effectively, ensuring the channel’s growth and sustainability.
Many of the stuff said about this is very useful. Much more useful that the stuff that I've waffled about at the start of this blog. I hope you can gain something from this blog and the skills that you need to acquire. Personally, I still need to improve in script writing, as when I write something or create something, I look back and realise it's pretty boring to read it or watch it. I need to improve this to keep my viewers retention rate longer. Anyways, that's pretty much it but there is still a lot more skills that you can obtain and need to become a successful Youtuber. Thanks for reading.
