Isle of Wight Experience Pt2
Isle of Wight Pt2 - Day 37
For this text, I'll be writing about my experience during my stay in the Isle of Wight for my family short vacation for just 4 days I believe. We stayed at a premier inn on the sea shore of the beach. This hotel was small and we didn't have much space but we had to work with what we had. Here are some pictures of the sea shore and the hotel that we stayed in.
This was the hotel that we stayed in. There wasn't much space in the hotel and we only got 1 room, but the hotel itself is pretty nice. To the right of the image which was cut out, there is a big beach that goes for a long way and also a port with an arcade. On the beach as well, there is a memorial cross.
This is the beach with the port that I was talking about. I had to get this picture off google as I wasn't able to take a picture of it while I was during the place as whenever we left the hotel during our stay, the sun was never out like in the picture and it was mainly like foggy and dark and we only got food late in the day as everyone was tired. The port was filled with shops in front and there was a café, arcade and some other fun stuff on it but we never went to it because we never had the time and my little brother was always sick so we could never go somewhere until we decided that for one time we would go somewhere and leave him at the hotel and I'll talk about that adventure later on as that was when we were a few days in the Isle of Wight
This was the memorial that I was talking about, I'm still not too sure about what this was about and we also saw the names of many people on tombstones at like the stone part separating the road and the beach area and I think it might be world war 2 soldiers as this might have been an area the Germans had landed when trying to naval invade Great Britain, but I don't have much of an idea. I just searched it up and the memorial was made for the first world war ( World war 1 ) and it was to appreciate those who lost their lives and gave it up to help the efforts of the first world war.
Those were some stuff that I didn't even know myself and I had to search it up but at least now I know and that I can learn more stuff about the place I visited without having to be in that place to learn more about it. Anyways, during our stay, we decided to go to this fish and chips place nearby and it was well price sort of ( it costed £7 for a fish and chips combo ) and so we ordered 2 of them for a total price of £14 and we also stopped by this Indian restaurant and we ordered some extra food like curry, beef, chicken, and some vegetable with some sauces as well. The food was amazing. The fish and chips were just like regular fish and chips. The fish was crunchy and tasty, while the chips were thick and we added salt onto it as it wasn't that seasoned, so by adding salt to it, it adds more flavour and more enjoyable. I couldn't finish it all as it was a lot and I felt sort of sick during this time ( this sickness would spread to our whole family and it still affects us today, which is about 4 days after this timeline I'm currently talking about ). After we had ate the fish and chips food, we had already picked up the Indian food and we were now walking back to our hotel room. The fish and chips area was just right behind the hotel, so the walk back to our hotel only took about 5 minutes or 10 minutes depending on which path you took. Then we entered through the front and took the elevator and I'm not sure why, but we kept taking the elevator even though our room was only a floor up and not like 5 floor up ( the highest floor the hotel would go up to ).
When we arrive back to our hotel room, if you were still hungry, you could go ahead and eat the Indian food. The Indian food was really good, the beef was nice and flavourful, the chicken was crunchy and tasty, the vegetables were seasoned so well and with the sauce, I could eat the vegetables with the sauce by themselves with rice and I wouldn't need to eat the beef or chicken it was that good. Also in the room, there wasn't much space so we had to work with what space we had in the room. I set up my laptop on the small desk that I would occasionally share and switch places with my dad as he also had to work. My brother would play on the floor or on a stool which he would sit on the bed to use his laptop. The only problem by having a small room, sound spread much easier. So whenever my little sister cried because my dad had to leave to do his work, she would cry super loud and non stop, this would lead our neighbouring hotel rooms to come upfront to our door and tell us if our little sister needs any help as she would not stop crying and she would keep trying to open up the door to try to go downstairs even though she doesn't even know where to go. But that's not really relevant during our stay on the island as that doesn't really give off any valuable information about our trip.
During our trip as well, our internet connection was absolutely horrible. Our connection even with our router was still really bad. Our router had blue connection which limited our internet to only 4G but I believe it was even lower and maybe 2.4Ghz or lower as I couldn't even load up a Microsoft Edge tab and it would take forever just for a video to load up. It was actually quicker to use the hotel internet rather than the router which is very surprising as many people are using the hotel Wi-Fi, about a hundred people I would estimate would be using the internet as we were using it. The internet was of course the best during night time but that's because everyone was asleep and we were the only ones awake. It was also the fact that the hotel internet was probably faster and has a better antenna rather than our small router that tries to find the 3Three satellites. The hotel also had a air conditioner which was very nice even though it was already cold inside the room, we increased the temperature so that it would be hotter and that because my little brother was sick, we had to raise it up so that he would recover more quicker and become better so that we could go somewhere ( but he never got better during the trip and is still sick ). This heat made me sort of overheat and I had drink a lot of water and take off my jumper. Although the hot temperature made me feel nice as it's been a while since the last time that I was in a hot room in the UK as it's always cold in the UK.
The hotel also had a menu but it was mainly not halal and a bit expensive, but it said that kids eat free and apparently, kids stay as kids until they are 16 years old. The price after we realised it was free for kids to eat breakfast, the price wasn't that bad. The price was £11.99 and it gave a good amount of options, but the only thing that we could eat from the menu would be cereal, bread, milk, and vegan sausage and vegan meat. For the price, it's not worth it as you could buy nearly the same things that they provide with the same price that it would cost you just to eat there for a few hours until the end of the morning breakfast time. I was actually pretty surprised they had vegan sausage because I was sort of craving meat as I barely ate any protein so far and I don't even know if vegan sausage even has protein as it's vegan. ( Apparently yes, vegan sausage do include protein as vegetables themselves have protein inside of them which I did not know, but now I know ).
Another thing that we did today that I haven't talked about yet was that we went onto the beach for a little bit and we just took a few steps and look over the memorial steps while we did so. We also saw a dog with a glowing and flashing neck thing around it's neck and it was pretty cool just watching a dog run super fast across a beach. Anyways that's pretty much I had to write about today, I'll continue the story tomorrow. Thanks for reading. Goodbye.
